When we launched here, we were a doorstep donation service from India trying something new. You booked pickups, ran donation drives at your offices and condos, and showed us that busy city living and giving can go together.
Today, we’re taking that lesson halfway across the world. Share At Door Step is now live in the San Francisco Bay Area – our fourth country after India, Singapore and the UK.
Why the Bay Area Felt Familiar
Singapore and the Bay Area have more in common than you might think. Both are fast-moving, tech-first places where almost everything can be booked in a few taps. And in both, donating preloved items used to mean the same routine: find a place that accepts them, carry heavy bags there, and hope it is open.
In the Bay Area, add long drives between cities. It is the same gap we set out to close in Singapore, just with bigger distances.
What We Learned in Singapore
A lot of what we are doing in the US was shaped here:
- Slots that fit around work – Singapore showed us that the pickup time matters as much as the pickup itself.
- Donation drives at work – companies here showed how quickly a team can fill a collection when giving is easy. 350+ companies across India and Singapore have now run drives with us.
- Clear item guidelines – knowing exactly what can and can’t be picked up keeps things smooth for everyone.
How It Works in the US
The booking flow will look familiar:
- Book online at us.shareatdoorstep.com.
- Pick a slot that suits you.
- Hand it over at the door. Convenience fee for the pickup option starts from $24.99.
Items accepted include clothes, shoes, books, toys and stationery, all in good, usable condition, and they go to local organisations across the Bay Area. We let donors know which organisation received their items.
We’re starting with San Francisco, San Jose, Fremont and the Peninsula and South Bay.
Nothing Changes Here
Share At Door Step Singapore carries on exactly as before. Same pickups, same slots, same team. The US launch simply means the idea that grew here is now reaching one more city.
